Choose your yarn, cast on, and start KNITTING! It’s that simple! Pattern includes instructions for a simple beret, designed by Hannah Fettig, in four different weight yarns.
Basic knitting skills (long tail cast on, knit, purl, bind off) are required. Shaping techniques will be taught in class.
Supplies needed depend on the gauge yarn you choose. CHOOSE ONLY ONE FOR CLASS!
NOTE: This classic beret will maintain its shape and look best if you choose a yarn with 100% natural fibers.
FINGERING – gauge 28 sts = 4″
- Yarn: 200 yards. Suggestions – Rowan Fine Tweed, Baah! La Jolla, Baah! Platinum, Tosh Merino Light, Tosh Sock, Malabrigo Sock
- Needles: 16″ circular in sizes US 1 & US 2. You will also need US 2 DPNs.
- Tapestry needle
- 10 ring stitch markers
DK – gauge 23 sts = 4″
- Yarn: 200 yards. Suggestions – Swans Island All American 100% Rambouillet, Rowan Felted Tweed DK, Berroco Vintage DK
- Needles: 16″ circular in sizes US 3 & US 5. You will also need US 5 DPNs.
- Tapestry needle
- 10 ring stitch markers
WORSTED – gauge 20 sts = 4″
- Yarn: 200 yards. Suggestions – HiKoo Kenzie, Tosh Vintage, Malabrigo Rios, Berroco Vintage Worsted
- Needles: 16″ circular in sizes US 5 & US 7. You will also need US 7 DPNs.
- Tapestry needle
- 11 ring stitch markers
BULKY – gauge 14 sts = 4″
- Yarn: 120 yards. Suggestions – Rowan Cocoon, Misti Alpaca Chunky, Tosh Chunky, Malabrigo Mecha, Berroco Vintage Chunky
- Needles: 16″ circular in sizes US 9 & US 10.5. You will also need US 10.5 DPNs.
