This pattern is a great for students looking to try their hand at a small color-work project. The cowl is made using DK-weight yarn in two contrasting colors. The pattern can easily be adjusted to be larger or worked in any gauge yarn. The pattern directions are written and charted. Cowl can be made in any circumference with a multiple of 4 stitch count.
Students MUST HAVE experience knitting in the round. Supplies needed include:
- 310 yards EACH in 2 contrasting colors (approx. 620 total yards) of DK-weight yarn
- 24″ US 6 circular needle
- Stitch markers
Sample knit with 152 stitches in Malabrigo Rastita (100% Merino wool; 310 yards), 1 skein EACH of colors: #31 Mostaza and #146 Peacock.
There is pre-work for this class that must be completed BEFORE class, so please plan accordingly — prior to class:
PREWORK — Cast on 152 (or desired number of) sts. Join for knitting in the round and knit all stitches until work measures 1.5 inches from cast on edge. Next, purl one row.
