In celebration of the 43rd anniversary of the Memorial Tournament and to recognize the amazing work done at Children’s Hospital, Knitting Temptations will donate 4.3% of all yarn sales between Monday, May 20 and Saturday, June 1, to the foundation of the hospital. We will include online orders, as well as in-store purchases. This contribution will be in honor of the many customers who support our LYS. We want to thank you with a meaningful gift to our community.

Dear Friends,

I am truly humbled and filled with gratitude to everyone who supported our shop this past Saturday. We had so much fun celebrating LYS Day with our wonderful customers. Thank you to those folks who weren’t available to visit on Saturday, but express their support in many other ways. Knitting Temptations has a community filled with talented and amazing fiber artists!

We are already brainstorming LYS Day 2020 and welcome your suggestions!

Dear Friends,

With longer days, the weather is beginning to catch up with the calendar. Soon Spring will arrive in central Ohio. In the meantime, Knitting Temptations will celebrate past experiences, launch exciting events and offer interesting classes for knitters and crocheters.

Here are some of the highlights:

April Fool’s Day will bring games, prizes & DISCOUNTS!
Navajo Intarsia, with our talented Michelle Hunter, is an opportunity to learn a fun technique and create a “show-stopper” shawl. Don’t let the name of the class scare you.
Kagan’s KAL knitters will celebrate the participation of all the “knitted triangles” with a reunion that includes special gifts.
LYS DAY, an event sponsored by The National Needlework Association, promotes local yarn shops and provides a day for shops to thank their fiber artists’ communities for their support of local yarn shops.

Dear Friends and Knitters,

Thank you for creating such a wonderful birthday for me! Your messages and cards made my day!

Yikes! Tonight we lose one hour of precious knitting time! My solution is to go to bed early and get up early to knit.

Although we open at 10am on March 16, it will be difficult to gain access to the shop until around 12:30pm. However, if you would like to watch the St. Patrick’s Day parade, it passes in front of the shop and you are more than welcome to watch from here.

One of our Friday Morning Knitters said, “This weather is as unpredictable as a teenager!” I’m sure most of us will agree. But, I’m confident Spring is coming to central Ohio! My poor soggy frozen pansies keep trying to poke their heads through the ground.

March brings opportunities to “March Forth” into spring. Jenny is teaching classes to knit hats and bunnies on double pointed needles. This skill opens the door to amigurumi creatures, preemie hats and other projects requiring work in small circumferences.

On March 4, we have a birthday party “skein swap” paired with an opportunity to fill boxes for those in need. We suggest toiletries, such as shampoo, soap, diapers and tooth paste, or socks, hats, mittens and scarves. Please make certain that all items are unopened, new purchases and not past expiration dates.

April opens with a fresh, KAL from Knit Purl Hunter. Michelle’s design, Cable Channel, is a stylish pillow featuring an original cable pattern. Hikoo’s Kenzie is her yarn of choice. Knitters can select from 30 rich colors and coordinate their yarn with beautiful buttons selected especially for Michelle’s project.

Finally, April 1 will bring surprises and gifts to our customers. Stayed tuned!

A Note From Karen

It’s party time! We have several upcoming events in which we are going to celebrate our knitting successes. It would be great if you joined us! On February 11, we will celebrate the end of our 2018 Passport to the Holidays program. March 4, we will celebrate, well, me! We have fun plans to share with you that day. April 18, we will have a Kagan’s Quilt reunion. It will be fun to see everyone’s quilt, finished or not.

Knitting in Both Directions??

Yes, it is possible and Barb will teach how to do it on Tuesday, June 28 from 1-3:30 pm. This techniques creates more consistent tension, simplifies knitting with charts, makes short rows easier and speeds up knitting. Any knitting style works! Class fee is $10.
