BOOK CLUB/DUSTLAND KAL — In-Person Sessions
March 6 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
LINDA MIHELY, Your Instructor
One of our dear friends and fellow knitters, Rebe Huntman, has recently published a new book, My Mother in Havana. In her book, Rebe “embarks on a pilgrimage into the mysteries of the gods and saints of Cuba and their larger spiritual view of “the Mother.”
Rebe has kindly agreed to lead us through a discussion of her book and how her search for the many aspects of womanhood relate to each of us during our upcoming Book Club/KAL beginning in March, 2025.
During each of the four weeks in March, we will meet to work on this beautiful blanket, the Dustland Blanket, designed by Stephen West, while we discuss Rebe’s lyrically descriptive journey into the wonder and mysteries of the Afro-Cuban culture.
The Dustland Blanket, offered in 3 sizes, is knit with DK weight yarn. Knitting Temptations suggests that you consider 29 Bridges DK, Sweet Georgia Mohair Silk DK, Woolstok or Berroco Vintage DK. Make your selection now so that you’ll be ready to join our Book Club/KAL!
You may preorder your copy of My Mother in Havana, which will be released on February 18, 2025, by clicking here.
