Date(s) - 06/28/2018
6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Class fee: $45 — pattern included; supplies extra
One 3-hour class
Instructor: Kristen Bucci
Skill level: Intermediate Knit
Not your typical sock construction, these are fun to knit and make great gifts since they are “one size fits most” and do not take a lot of yarn. Great to wear around the house or for travel slippers.
Techniques students will learn in this class:
- Turn heel
- Creating vertical to horizontal seams
- Kitchener grafting
This intermediate project is appropriate for students who have previous experience knitting small circumference (e.g., socks, mittens, sleeves) with either double pointed needles (DPNs) or Magic Loop.
- Yarn: One skein of fingering-weight yarn
- Needle: US 3 (3.25mm) FlexiFlips, DPNs, or 32″ cable for Magic Loop
- Stitch markers
- Darning needle
The shop sample is knit with Spud & Chloë Stripey Fine in Orange Cream.
Please purchase your supplies prior to class day. There is pre-work for this class.
Using the long-tail method, start with a 36″ tail and cast on 42 sts (remaining tail will be used later so DO NOT trim it!)
Work 3 rows as follows:
Row 1 (WS): Knit.
Row 2 (RS): Purl.
Row 3 (WS): Knit.
Bring your stitch markers and darning needle to class along with your pre-work.
You may register for classes in person or by calling the shop at 614-734-0618 during regular business hours. We require that you make payment in full when you register.
