Learn a new striping technique for knitting in the round that is so clever that you won’t believe how SIMPLE it is! You’ll learn how to create stripey fingerless mitts with no jogs, no yarns to carry – nothing but beautiful single-row stripes!
Whether you prefer knitting in the round with the Magic Loop technique or with double-pointed needles, you can work this technique with ease.
In this class, we’ll have plenty of opportunity to practice the helical stripe technique while making fingerless mitts. These mitts are great for the fast-approaching autumn days when you’ll need a little extra warmth.
NOTE: The single row stripes created by the helical stripe method look best when there is good contrast between the two yarns you use. Two skeins are enough to make two pairs of mitts. You may choose more than two colors if you want to get creative with the look of your mitts.
Yarn: 2 skeins Lorna’s Lace Solemate; HIGH contrast colors are suggested
Needles: US 1 (2.5mm) 32″ circular needles or DPNs
Stitch markers
Waste yarn
Tapestry needle
