Using Michelle Hunter’s heirloom pattern, knit a personalized Christmas stocking that is sure to be treasured! While the designs are classic, the techniques are decidedly modern. The pattern includes six designs!
Each stocking is knit using three colors.
These stocking are worked toe-up and feature a short row heel. Skills covered include:
- Fair Isle knitting
- Two-handed/two-color knitting
- Duplicate stitch
- Short rows
- Magic Loop
- Judy’s magic cast on
- Yarn management
- Chart reading
- Expert finishing skills and more!
While previous sock knitting experience is not required, students must be familiar with knitting in the round, experienced with simple increases and decreases, and have a basic understanding of the Magic Loop technique. Upon completion of the series, all students will have the knowledge to knit a toe-up sock of their choosing.

- Yarn: 3 skeins of Cascade 220 – one each of red, green and white
- US 7 40″ circular (or 32″ would work in a pinch)
- US 7 16″ circular
