Would you like to learn a new knitting technique and create a lovely item to give or keep for yourself? According to Laura Farson’s book, “New Twists on Twined Knitting,” Twined knitting is an old technique rediscovered recently in the remote area of Dalarna in Sweden. This technique nearly died out while Continental-style knitting was taught exclusively in schools. The rediscovery of this lovely technique has captured the interest and enthusiasm of knitters around the world. While creating a ski/cold weather headband, students will learn the German Twisted Cast on and how to twine knit and purl in the round. Class fee for this 3 hour class is $45.
220 yds. soft wool or wool blend yarn (22-24 stitches/4″) and 100 yds. angora or angora/wool blend; size 7 16″ circular needle, stitch markers; 3 large bobbins.
Please familiarize yourself with the German twisted cast on by watching Michelle’s video. And try to practice before class.
