Fox Paws is a rectangular wrap with a distinctive stripe motif that resembles little interlocking paws. The design can be worked in 2 or more colors without any stranded or Intarsia color work techniques. The wrap is 70″ x 20″.

Beth’s sample is worked in 5 colors that rotate every repeat to create a varied appearance, but you can use almost any stripe pattern you choose. Helpful hints and coloring sheet will be provided in class.

Students should possess good basic knitting skills (knit, purl and binding off).  A knowledge of decrease and increase stitches are also helpful. Intermediate knitting experience is recommended but not required.

Supplies needed:

  • Yarn: 1100-1300 yards of fingering-weight yarn in at least 2 colors
  • Needles: 32″ circular in size US 6
  • Ring stitch markers

Sample made in Aspen (sport-weight) by Baah! Yarn; 1 skein each of 5 colors. Kits are also available at Knitting Temptations!

HOMEWORK TO COMPLETE PRIOR TO CLASS:

Knit a gauge swatch at least 4″x 4″.
